Dots Jukebox: New Music Part 4 – Arrows of Love, Wooden Shjips & Lucius

new music

As part of the run-up to my 100th Dots Jukebox, I wanted to do something a little bit different. I asked my music loving friends on Twitter to suggest their favourite song by a new artist (or the most recent they can think of), asking them to do so secretly. I compiled all suggestions, and instead of the normal Dots Jukebox evening, I’ve written a one line review of every song and will be revealing them over the course of two days.

2013 saw the release of The Knife by Arrows of Love, and that is @aisfornala‘s new music choice. They released their debut album Everything’s Fucked in April of this year.

Next up, we have a song selected by @instantkarma80 – he chose Back to Land by Wooden Shjips, from the album of the same name, which was released in November 2013wooden shjipsDOTTY VIEW: This song is a balance of light and dark, upbeat and easy going, dense and simple, all rolled into one. Check it out…

@substandardnerd suggested Tempest by Lucius, from their critically acclaimed 2013 debut album Wildewoman.
